About

History of Our Class

The MHS, Class of 1974 originated from three small towns known as Leaksville, Spray, and Draper, North Carolina.  These three very close and small towns voted to become one town around the time our class was in the fifth grade. Our town is known today as Eden.  Although we still remain a small town, we have grown tremendously since graduating from high school. When we reached the sixth grade, two of the three city school systems were then sent to one school called Leaksville/Spray Intermediate where we spent one year.  At the 7th grade level we were all combined and attended Holmes Jr. High School, now known as Holmes Middle School, until completeing the 9th grade. We then attended Morehead High School until graduation in June of 1974.

As the three towns were combined, made new friends right away.  We became a very close knit class.  Even after graduation it seemed like we still tried to keep up with each others where abouts!

With the internet today, it has become much easier to communicate and share our lives and interests with each other. We have our own website where we discuss what our class is doing in the community.  We are also able to plan our reunions as a group.

In closing we want you to know that each and every person that was a part of our class helped to make our memories of school what they are today.  We are saddened by all the friends that we have lost. Each and every one will remain in our hearts forever.  As we take this time to honor each of them by sharing our memories, please feel free to add your own memories and photos as well.
