As Community Manager, I like helping both Respectance and Picalily members with the many questions and suggestions they have. Most of the questions are pretty easy to answer, but a couple of times a week I get requests that are more difficult.
For example, about two months ago, I was contacted by the police in England. Apparently a Tribute had been posted on Respectance for a woman who was missing. The police wanted to know who had posted the Tribute and how to contact them and the people who had visited it.
Of course, I wanted to help the police in their investigation, but then there is the question of privacy. You probably heard the story a few years ago about the reporter in China who used his Yahoo! mail to send mails the government there didn't like. Yahoo! shared the man's location information with the authorities, landing him in jail for 10 years!
Our Terms of Service allow the sharing of data for criminal investiagtions and the UK is not exactly China, and the polic were looking to locate a missing person, not imprison dissidents, so in the end, we did help the police after they supplied an official request.
Thankfully, most of the requests I receive are much less complicated. Still, it's fun to see the variety of input we get from our visitors. So keep the questions, suggestions and feedback coming in!
